We’re honored to host Sandra Dallas again for her latest book, The HIred Man!
A historical fiction novel set in Dust Bowl-era Colorado (1937) about the Kessler family, who hire a drifter named Otis Hobbs, leading to suspicion and conflict in their community after a local girl is murdered, forcing 15-year-old narrator Martha Helen to confront prejudice and the difference between law and justice. The story explores themes of loyalty, secrets, and survival, focusing on the lives of women during the harsh times.
It’s always a wonderful time with Sandra here! She will tell us about her new book and answer questions during her visit with us.

Victoria Wright, President and CEO of Healing Words Creations, is a dynamic force for transformation. Her journey began in the non-profit world, advocating for change, then led her to earn a law degree where she championed Indigenous rights. Eventually, she entered the corporate arena. Throughout her successful career she realized something was missing. Despite all her accomplishments, Victoria felt weighed down, unfulfilled, and limited.
After fourteen years in corporate America, she made a bold move—she stepped away to rediscover herself. Today, Victoria is a sought-after speaker, author, and healer. Her fictional yet soul-stirring books—Listen Within, Red Red White, One Deep Breath, and The Quiet Butterfly—carry timeless messages of self-discovery and inner strength.
The Quiet Butterfly
Neepa Irving has two main goals in life: to not get pregnant like her mother did at sixteen years old and to graduate high school. Neepa’s other goal: to avoid being bullied. Her strategy has been to not be seen or heard, but no matter where she’s lived—on the reservation or in the city—bullies find her. Soon, Neepa is fighting school bullies as well as the bully within—her ego that fills her head with lies. No matter what Neepa does, it seems her life will never be okay.
